Janet Croog is a paper artist and illustrator who works primarily with layered paper to create gorgeous, sculptural art pieces. I captured images for Janet at the opening of her exhibit, Shadows Untorn, part of her Artist in Residency at Confluence South Fork. The series of images captures Janet’s artwork on display, along with interactions from both visitors and the artist herself.

Seymour Simmons is an artist and professor, with a focus on portraiture and landscape drawings and watercolor paintings. I had the opportunity to photograph his beautiful works during his temporary exhibit at Catalyst Charlotte in Uptown. In addition to capturing the works on display, Seymour shared some of his unframed early drawings and paintings as he shared about his practice.

Artist Chloe Compton: MFA Thesis Exhibit

Chloe Compton is a visual artist and educator, focusing on ceramics, sculpture and printmaking. I had the opportunity to capture her gorgeous MFA Thesis Exhibit at Winthrop University, including some scenes with Chloe interacting with her own work, and sharing the experiences, stories and inspiration that she wove into the creation of each piece.
